Judging day for 5 to 8 competition

April 26th, 2008 by Chris Bryan

A rare sunny Saturday afternoon found members from various camera clubs sat in a darkened Coytrahen Community Centre watching the top 15 entries in our first 5 to 8 Photo Harmony competition. Our distinguished judge, Ian Bateman FRPS MPAGB, kept us all in suspense before announcing the winner as:
David R Neal AFIAP, DPAGB, BPE4* of Eryri Photo Group.
The winning sequence met with universal approval and contained a stunning selection of mountain landscapes. Bridgend Camera Club was well represented with Jenny Hibbert AWPF gaining a well deserved runners up spot, also, our judge felt compelled to award a highly commended to Mike Eady and Jeff Goodwin.
All present had an enjoyable time and offered much praise for both Bridgend Camera Club and our judge for his thoughtful and constructive comments. The range of subjects tackled, the quality of the images and the truly varied choice of music made the afternoon both stimulating and enjoyable.

New Season

August 23rd, 2007 by Chris Bryan

The club season begins on Monday 3rd September. Our first evening begins with a return visit from Steve Philips. Directly following on from last years talk, on press photography, Steve’s talk this year is entitled Photographing Welsh International Rugby, very timely with the Rugby World Cup about to start in France. Even non rugby fans should find this talk fascinating as Steve shares his wealth of practical advice and fun stories with his background as picture editor of Wales’ largest circulation newspaper.
